Aeeshah Clottey, Organization Co-Founder and Board Member - Aeeshah is a community activist and is the co-author of Color Theory: Race is a Powerful Illusion. Clottey is an international motivational speaker, certified Restorative Justice trainer and peace-making consultant.  She co-founded AHC in 1989 and has 35 years of specialized training in Attitudinal Healing. Aeeshah worked as the Assistant Program Director of Casa de la Vida, a residential treatment facility located in Oakland for 25 years. She is also a state certified genetic counselor and former member of the Board of Directors for University of Creation Spirituality, Global Renaissance Alliance and The Peace Alliance.  


Steve Jones, President (interim) - Steve is an award winning graphic designed and exhibiting artist. He received a BFA in Graphic Design from California College of the Arts, and a MFA in Graphic Design from the Rhode Island School of Design. Steve is the principal and creative director of plantain, a design studio in Oakland. He has also taught as California College of the Arts, the Rhode Island School of Design, and San Francisco State University. His approach to graphic design combines the personal with the formal, a place where function meets form with a serving of metaphor and allegory. His interests focus on African American history and Black icons and their representation in mass media and popular culture.

Fred Lambright, Treasurer - Fred is the Vice President, Community Development Manager, at Mechanics Bank. Fred is the Principal at F Lambright Consulting, providing consulting services in the areas of affordable housing, economic development and compliance monitoring. Prior to starting his company, Lambright worked for 12 years at the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco and his last assignment was as a Senior Community Investment Consultant. Born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, Fred has a son, Freddie Lambright III. Fred enjoys traveling and has visited places in Europe, Asia, and the South Pacific. He received a Bachelors of Science in Applied Economics, from the University of San Francisco. 


Sabah Harris, Secretary - Sabah is pursuing an MBA from Loyola Marymount University (LMU) following her years of providing intervention services as a Resource Specialist Teacher in Los Angeles, CA. She taught 6th-8th grade, multiple subjects, at ICEF View Park Preparatory Middle School. After receiving her bachelor's degree at LMU, she joined AmeriCorps through Teach for America, while receiving her Master's in Education at LMU with an emphasis in administration and policy. In addition to teaching, Harris has also worked for the Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit under D.A. Nancy O'Malley of Alameda County, and Congresswoman Barbara Lee. Sabah has always sought job opportunities that are centered around impact and giving back to the community. Her passion for public service did not start there. Being born into a family that is passionate about social justice and uplifting the community, she wants to continue that legacy.


Willard Wheaton Davis, Board Member - Willard is a graduate of UC Santa Barbara, holds a Masters Degree from the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, and has a Community College Life Credential in Philosophy, Religion & Computer Technology.  In the early 1970’s he co-founded the New Community High School on 33rd and Market Street at the M Robinson Baker YMCA, known then as North Oakland. Later he co-founded the Center for Attitudinal Healing Network in Santa Cruz shortly after his beloved wife Paul Powers was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Willard, a man of many talents, a community college professor, entertains the elderly with his melodic guitar and voice on a weekly basis, and is a trained facilitator in the field of Attitudinal Healing.


Adam Chapuis, Board Member - Adam graduated from Florida State University with a Master’s Degree in Geology and has recently retired as the Executive Vice President for Research Management Consultants, Inc. providing Environmental Engineering and Information Technology support services to federal agencies. Over the last 20 years, Adam’s life journey has moved progressively from a task-based corporate emphasis to an Earth-based spiritual emphasis. His deep understanding of the inter-connectedness of scientific laws and spiritual principles is presented in his book Voices of the Earth: Life Lessons from a Blue Planet. He has been an integral part of AHC’s annual Unleashing the Human Spirit Retreat, where he raises the awareness of participants about our relationship to a dynamic Earth, and the importance of living in physical and spiritual balance.

Cesar Escalante, Board Member -  Cesar is a Family Engagement Coordinator at the Oakland Unified School District and long-time Community Organizer in education, mass-incarceration, and immigration. He works at the local, state, and national level to organize and coordinate communities advocating for California Sanctuary State, Oakland Sanctuary City and Sanctuary Oakland Unified School District. He is a member of the Hoover Resident Action Council, Local Control Accountability Plan and Blueprint for quality schools. Cesar speaks both English and Spanish and holds a BA in Political Sciences from East Bay California State University, an AA in Social Sciences and Liberal Arts from Laney College, Oakland.

Terry Banks, Board Member - Terry is a Financial Coach who specializes in guiding professionals, singles and couples, who feel frustrated with living paycheck to paycheck so that they can achieve financial security. She started Bank On It Financial Coaching to offer guidance, education and accountability to people as they navigate the world of personal finance. Prior to coaching, she enjoyed a 20+ year career in Operations and Supply Chain Management at small businesses and startups.


Adam Menter, Board Member - Adam is a design strategist, artist, educator, and program director whose projects focus on catalyzing learning and building community. During his 12 years working at Autodesk, he created and led global programs in sustainable design, education, and community for Autodesk’s customer base of engineers and architects. Prior to that he was a design strategy consultant at Jump Associates. He is also a co-founder and president of the board of Greenermind, a community-led non-profit that focuses on personal and collective growth, healing, and transformation. He has a mechanical engineering degree and an MBA from Vanderbilt University. He loves photography and is at home in the redwoods.
