This workshop is for anyone who is interested in discovering the Djembe drum and learning how to tap into their own rhythm for self discovery. "Djembe" means "gathering" and is used for ability to provide sonic diversity, including natural sounds such as rain and thunder.

The series will be lead by Kokomon Clottey. Kokomon is from Ghana, West Africa and has captured the richness of his culture and the essence of mindful drumming as a healing modality in his book, Mindful Drumming: Ancient Wisdom for Unleashing the Human Spirit and Building Community. He has produced three albums; Love is the AnswerMystic Vision, and Eternal Quest.

Mindful Drumming is hosted by Attitudinal Healing Connection (AHC) in West Oakland. The mission of AHC is to empower individuals to be self-aware and inspired through art, creativity and education, making positive choices to break the cycle of violence for themselves and their communities.
