AHC facilitates an annual Martin Luther King Jr. community event “Make the Dream Real” on the national MLK holiday in partnership with Reverend Ron Swisher of Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church, Dr. Matthew Fox and various other community organizations. The event encourages volunteerism, honors community members who are doing exemplary service in the Bay Area, showcases young artistic presentations and provides inspiring speeches by various notable keynote speakers. The theme for the MLK Holiday is: “A Day On for Social Justice & Volunteerism and Not a Day Off”.
